Stating “I love this new world, I no longer have to be politically correct,” Connecticut politician Christopher von Keyserling joins the ranks of misbehaving politicians in a crotch-grabbing incident reminiscent of Pres. Elect Donald Trump’s “Grab them by the pussy” comment. Von Keyserling’s lawyer claims it was a playful gesture, but I have it on good authority from a few friends that such behavior is not playful nor welcome outside of a sexual context.
In a comment that is all too familiar to those familiar with sexual assault encounters, the victim considered not reporting the incident:
The woman told police she was initially hesitant to file a criminal complaint because of the risk of retribution and the public attention it might bring, according to authorities. However, she decided to do so after she later found out that von Keyserling had allegedly behaved “in a similar way with other employees.”
Please don’t behave this way, folks – it’s not cool, and it does harm the victim.
